The Best Recipes of 2014 | ChezCateyLou.com
Another year has come to an end – can you believe it?  2014 was a great year for Chez CateyLou.  I have learned so much this year, met amazing people (both virtually and in person!), taken some awesome trips, and baked a lot of cookies!  I don’t think I really realized how much was involved with blogging until this year…wow, it is time consuming!!  But I love it.  It has really changed my life, in a very positive way.

I am so thankful for all of you, my readers – thank you for reading my posts and commenting and interacting on social media – it means so much that people care about this little blog of mine!

And now to the Best Recipes of 2014.  Last year I only did a top 5, but it was WAY too hard to only choose 5.  This year I made 114 recipes (!!) – how can you narrow that down to only 5?!  So I’m going to start with your top 5 favorite and then finish with my top 5 best recipes of 2014!

Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting | ChezCateyLou.com

5) Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting
This was Chez CateyLou’s first birthday cake, and also one of the best things I have ever made according to TheBetterHalf!  I’m so glad it made it into your top 5!

Single Serving Healthy Chocolate Chip Pancakes | ChezCateyLou.com

4) Single Serving Healthy Chocolate Chip Pancakes
I have made this recipe more than any other recipe on my site – I have loved these healthy pancakes for years, and I’m so glad that I could share them with you!

Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies | chezcateylou.com 3) Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are so delicious and gooey and so pretty – and it looks like you agree with me!

Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookies | ChezCateyLou.com

2) Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookies
This NYC bakery is famous for their chocolate chip cookies, and you loved my recreation of them!  Next year I want to try out their chocolate peanut butter chip version!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins | ChezCateyLou.com

1) Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins
Turns out you like Peanut Butter and Chocolate as much as TheBetterHalf does!  These were by far the most popular recipe of 2014.  I wish every breakfast could be this delicious!

Honorable mention goes to my Chocolate Zucchini Bread and Skinny Chocolate Cake with Greek Yogurt.  Both recipes are from last year, but they were two of my most popular this year!  I guess I need to make more healthy recipes next year – people really like them!  Also there is a theme to the most popular recipes on my blog…they all contain chocolate!!!  I love that!

My Top Recipes of 2014 | ChezCateyLou.com

And now for my Top 5! And let me tell you, it was agonizing to pick only 5 – I made 114 recipes this year, and loved all of them!  But here goes:

Salted Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Cookies | ChezCateyLou.com 5) Salted Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Cookies
I took my favorite cookie and made a few changes to it – the result was one amazing cookie!

Butternut Squash Crostini with Ricotta, Cider Caramelized Onions, and Fried Sage | ChezCateyLou.com 4) Butternut Squash Crostini with Cider Caramelized Onions and Fried Sage
These crostini were a play on my beloved squash toast, and they were so delicious and so pretty!

Chocolate Donuts with Peanut Butter Frosting | chezcateylou.com 3) Chocolate Donuts with Peanut Butter Frosting
I have a thing for baking donuts.  I also have a thing for chocolate and peanut butter.  Thus, these donuts were my favorite of the year!

Rustic Strawberry Peach Tart | chezcateylou.com #recipe 2) Rustic Strawberry Peach Tart
TheBetterHalf and I literally ate this entire thing in one day.  That’s when you know you have a good recipe.  Also it doesn’t get much prettier than fresh summer strawberries and peaches, my two favorite fruits.

Light and Fluffy Overnight Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls | chezcateylou.com 1) Overnight Cinnamon Rolls
I love making breakfast and cinnamon rolls are one of our favorite things to eat.  However I had not attempted real cinnamon rolls until this year – I was very proud of myself for mastering the recipe, and they tasted amazing.  So that’s why these cinnamon rolls are my top recipe of 2014!

Honorable mention goes to Burnt Sugar Almonds (these were so tasty and addicting that I literally couldn’t stop eating them) and Raspberry Chocolate Tart (one of the best things I have ever made according to TheBetterHalf).

And that’s a wrap!  I’d say 2014 was a successful and delicious year.  Happy New Year everyone!!
